Swinger Birthday Weekend at the Club: Adam's Wild Quickie Recap
There are birthdays, and then there are swinger lifestyle birthdays. One involves a grocery-store sheet cake and a card signed by coworkers you barely know. The other involves free sopapillas, THC lemonade, a friend with a literal bag of toys, and a moment so cinematic it belonged on the cover of a vintage VHS tape. This week's quickie episode of Beyond Monogamy is the full recap of Adam's birthday weekend, and folks — the man turned 44 like it was a championship season.
The Birthday Politician of Eddie's Taco House
Adam has spent his entire life being the guy who never wants anyone to know it's his birthday. This year? New policy. The celebration started with Dutch Bros, a pair of Hedo dudes (the shoes he used to mock relentlessly and now describes as "walking on pillows" — character development!), and breakfast at Eddie's Taco House in San Antonio, where Adam announced his birthday to every human within earshot. His words: "I was like a politician in that place." Shaking hands. Waving like Miss America on a parade float. And it WORKED — free sopapillas and a multi-octave birthday serenade from the entire staff. Pris has it on tape. Old school. Practically VHS.
Dinner With Three Couples (and One Very Honest Brain)
Birthday dinner was at Dough Neapolitan Pizzeria — four couples, eight people, nonstop laughter, genuinely intimate. And then Adam did the thing Adam does: he got honest. Sitting at a table in the swinger lifestyle means sometimes you're chatting politely with someone while your brain is... elsewhere. Adam copped to it fully, then floated the concept of a "dog pile on Adam" as a birthday fantasy, which Pris immediately fact-checked as Not A Real Term. The ensuing debate is worth the price of admission (the price of admission is free, but still).
Meanwhile Pris — who can apparently hold entire conversations without sex popping into her head even once — remains a scientific marvel that Adam is openly jealous of.
Ray and the Bag of Toys: A Public Service
Then it was off to their home club, where the birthday crowd assembled on two couches and their friend Ray showed up with her famous bag of toys — going around offering pleasure to the women of the club like some kind of very specialized fairy godmother. And here's the fascinating part: most women say no. This kicked off one of the best conversations of the episode — about vulnerability, exhibitionism, trust, and why putting on a show is Pris's happy place. It also produced the long-awaited ruling in the case of Kink v. Fetish: a fetish is something you need, a kink is something you want, and exhibitionism is officially Pris's kink. Court adjourned.
Adam's counterpoint — that most men would instantly say yes to the reverse offer — gets complicated by his own story about a takeover contest that couldn't find male volunteers. Turns out everybody's braver in theory. Discuss.
THC Lemonade: A Math Story
A quick word about Uncle Arnie's lemonade: 1,000 milligrams per bottle, 10 milligrams per ounce. Pris had two little Buddies shots, then approximately four ounces of the lemonade, and somewhere between the couch and the back rooms the math caught up with her. Direct quotes include "I was blazed," "I was lit," and Adam's loving observation that "there was nobody behind the wheel." She danced through it, chugged water, and demolished a plate of club fries so hard she didn't discover the ketchup until it was over. A champion's recovery.
The VHS Cover Moment
We won't spoil the best parts of what happened in the back — you'll want Adam and Pris telling it in their own words — but know this: there was a double birthday treat, midnight lap dances (one of which left Adam "walking away a little stiff"), and one moment where Adam looked across the room and saw Pris posed with a friend's husband like the literal cover of a vintage adult film. Something the two of them had JUST talked about, delivered without her even realizing it. Adam's official review: "Done. Dead. Over. Sayonara, baby." When your wife accidentally fulfills a fantasy on your birthday, that's not luck — that's marriage.
The Most Relatable Ending in ENM History
The plan after the club was ambitious: take the pizza to the hotel, find somebody to come over, keep the party going. Then the hotel AC hit, the cold bed happened, and the plan was unanimously revised to "nah." They vegged out, ate two kinds of leftover pizza, slept like champions, and — because they are who they are — still managed a very productive morning. Balance. That's what ethical non-monogamy is all about.
The weekend wrapped with Mexican breakfast with friends and The Odyssey in 70mm (Adam's childhood favorite book, Christopher Nolan approved). Oh — and big news: Adam starts a new job Monday, officially retiring from unemployment. Which means if you want him back home making content full-time, he has a Patreon and he is not above begging. His words, basically.
