Kink Night at Club Eden: Our First BDSM Club Experience
Guys. GUYS. We need to talk about Kink Night.
If you've been listening to Beyond Monogamy with Adam & Pris for a while, you know we talk about Club Eden in San Antonio approximately every four minutes. It's our home club, our happy place, the venue where half our best stories happen. But there's a corner of Club Eden we'd been dodging for years: Thursday night Kink Night. And on this Wednesday quickie, we finally went — and came back changed people. Well, one of us came back considering a career change. More on that in a second.
Wait, Isn't Kink the Same as Swinging?
Nope. And that's kind of the whole point of this episode. Kink and swinging are neighbors, not roommates — different communities, different vibes, and (we'll be honest) different levels of judgment flowing in both directions. We'd absorbed some of that judgment ourselves without even realizing it. Pris admitted she used to give people "this negative spiel" every time Kink Night came up. Turns out that spiel was built entirely on bullshit we never actually verified. Familiar story, right? It's the exact same nonsense vanilla people say about swingers.
Enter Mistress Vampirella
This whole adventure happened because of our friend Ronee — professionally known as Mistress Vampirella, which, yes, is a mouthful, and yes, we tried to say it fast and failed. She's been a professional dominatrix for a few years now, she's been following the show since she started, and she came to Kink Night dressed to absolutely destroy: latex miniskirt, corset doing serious structural work, full glam. Her sub came dressed in... a robe. For now.
She brought her sub and two friends, all Club Eden newbies, and they got the full management tour — the dance floor rigged for shibari, the spanking saddle, all of it. We were there early (8:30, if you're keeping score, because we are responsible adults who show up on time to a sex club), and we figured we'd bail by 10:30 since things don't really pop off until 11.
Mistress Vampirella had other plans.
The Flogging Lesson That Broke Adam's Brain
Before things got serious, Mistress V gave Pris a flogging lesson — on Adam. Using the actual coaching line: "Remember Indiana Jones? You wanna do it the same way." Solid advice! Except Pris's brain flatly refused to cooperate. "My brain does not like to give pain," she explained, several times, while doing what can only be described as the gentlest flick of the wrist in flogging history. A guy nearby actually stepped in to coach her technique. Adam's response to unsolicited flogging advice from a stranger: "Dude, I will punch you." Healthy communication, everyone.
Then Things Got... Educational
Once the lesson wrapped, Mistress V walked her sub to the back — leash, suitcase, the whole production — and set him up in what Adam and Pris can only describe as a metal canopy bed crossed with a cage. He was fully geared up: leather sensory mask (no talking, seeing, or hearing), mittens, collar, harness, nipple clamps, cock cage, and toe rings rigged for rope. His kink is humiliation and power exchange, and watching a professional handle that with genuine care — constantly checking in, reading his cues, never actually being cruel — recalibrated a lot of assumptions in real time.
Then came the electric wand (think: those staticky glass orbs from the '90s, but on your nipples), and then — brace yourselves — sounding rods. Metal rods, thick as your pinky, originally designed to break up kidney stones, that Mistress V lubed up and very, very slowly inserted while Pris held a vibrating wand at, uh, ground zero. Adam watched, transfixed. Pris covered her eyes, then uncovered them, then got weirdly into it. It was a whole emotional arc.
They had to leave before the "part two" happened (Mistress V wanted to size up), which means this might genuinely need a follow-up episode. We're not opposed.
The Actual Point of All This
Underneath the sounding rods and the electric wand, there's a real thesis to this episode: consent, headspace, and aftercare are the whole game. What looks like torture from the outside is, for the person in it, a controlled, deeply satisfying experience — and the dom's job is to hold that space safely. Adam left low-key wanting to try being a dom himself ("I would love to do this... maybe I'll be a dom porn star"). Pris is intrigued but has boundaries, mainly around anything involving bodily fluids she did not sign up for.
They also got spanked the old-fashioned way — including, no joke, a spoon from Hobby Lobby — and Pris discovered she's a fan of cupping ("do the other cheek now"). Wholesome content, truly.
What's Next
Mistress Vampirella loved Club Eden so much she's already planning to come back regularly and put on shows — so if you're in San Antonio on a Thursday with nothing to do, Kink Night is calling. Adam & Pris are also headed to ShibART-i, a Shibari art event in the Houston area on November 14th, and they'll be having the organizer on the show soon to talk all things rope. Stay tuned.
The big takeaway, in Adam's words: "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do." That's true in swinging, it's true in kink, and honestly it's just a good life policy.
