Martha Kauppi

Martha Kauppi is an AASECT-certified sex therapist, relationship educator, and clinical trainer who specializes in intimacy, attachment, emotional regulation, and ethical non-monogamy. With decades of personal and professional experience, Martha works at the intersection of psychology, sexuality, and nervous-system awareness—helping people build relationships that are not only ethical, but emotionally sustainable.

Martha is widely known for her work supporting consensual non-monogamy and polyamorous relationship structures, both in the therapy room and through professional training. She is the author of Polyamory: A Clinical Toolkit for Therapists (and Their Clients), a groundbreaking resource designed to support therapists, coaches, and individuals navigating open relationships with clarity, compassion, and skill.

In addition to her clinical work, Martha trains therapists internationally, helping mental-health professionals move beyond pathologizing frameworks and toward more inclusive, evidence-based care. She also co-hosts the podcast Untangling Intimacy, where she explores real-world relationship challenges, desire, consent, communication, and emotional complexity through the lens of sex therapy.
