Owner
Lynn Raridon is the trailblazing owner of Forbidden Fruit, Austin’s legendary adult boutique that’s been “keeping Austin sexy” since the early 1980s—long before Keep Austin Weird became a slogan. What started as a small punk-era curiosity shop has evolved into a cornerstone of body-positivity, sexual wellness, and inclusive community education.
After stepping into the business in the early days and eventually taking over in 1987, Lynn transformed Forbidden Fruit into something far beyond a store. It’s a safe, welcoming hub where curiosity meets confidence—a space devoted to pleasure, education, empowerment, and connection. From pioneering in-home “naughty Tupperware” parties in the ’80s to hosting today’s workshops on everything from BDSM basics to oral confidence, Lynn and her team have spent four decades helping Austin embrace healthy sexuality and authentic self-expression.
A lifelong educator and advocate, Lynn’s influence stretches beyond retail. Forbidden Fruit serves as an erotic art gallery, community resource center, and proud sponsor of events like the Texas Burlesque Festival. Whether she’s teaching about consent and communication, supporting local makers and sex-positive artists, or mentoring the next generation of pleasure professionals, Lynn continues to embody the unapologetic spirit of Austin—open-minded, inclusive, and just the right kind of naughty.
